County Master Transportation Plan - This project involved the GPS
road inventory survey and evaluation of current conditions of selected
County roads. Approximate road mileage for this project was 190 miles
of gravel roads and 170 miles of paved roads. Bridge conditions (geometry
and sufficiency ratings) were also included with the GIS system to provide
the County with a complete inventory of their transportation system.
The study included evaluation of current traffic conditions on the County
roads and SH 55. The growth pattern in the County was evaluated based
on the population growth and land developments in the County. Future
transportation needs in the County and alternate SH 55 routes around
McCall, Donnelly and Cascade were identified in this project. A surface
Management Plan was developed and recommended to the County for adoption.
A Capital Improvement Plan was developed listing all major investment
projects based on the projected traffic volumes and County's need and
priority. Training of County personnel on the use of the GIS system
will also included in the project.
