City of Middleton Sub-Regional Travel Demand Forecast Model - Ongoing

This project is a cooperative effort of the City of Middleton, Canyon County Highway District 4 (CCHD4) and Holladay Engineering Company. A sub-regional travel demand forecast model for the Middleton area which estimates travel demand for the future years. The model uses forecasted conditions including population, land use and planned improvements to the roadway network developed in the Master Transportation Plan.

The primary purpose of the sub-regional travel demand is to estimate travel demand on local streets, thoroughfares, and travel behavior and traffic circulation during peak periods within the study area. The Middleton study area will be divided into travel zones called "Traffic Analysis Zone" (TAZ) which is consistent with TAZs developed by the Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho (COMPASS). A typical four step model will be used to develop the sub-regional travel demand model.
