City
of Cascade Master Transportation Plan - This project involved the
GPS road inventory survey and evaluation of current conditions of the
City road system. Approximate road mileage for this project was 9 miles
of gravel roads and 10.5 miles of paved roads. The study included evaluation
of current traffic conditions on the City roads and traffic operation
at four (4) key intersections along SH 55 in the City limits. Future
transportation needs were forecasted based on the City's growth, the
surrounding land use and zoning and other major land developments. Feasible
options for the alternate SH 55 route were discussed in the plan. A
Surface Management Plan and Street Standards were developed and recommended
to the County for adoption. A Capital Improvement Plan was developed
listing all major investment projects based on the projected traffic
volumes and the City's need and priority and provided information on
funding sources and strategies to obtain funds for the projects.
