Master Transportation Plan
The Transportation Plan complements existing planning documents and is an important first step. The Transportation Plan will address more specifically the aspects of sub-area connectivity, redundancy of emergency response routes, integration with other agency roads and the Idaho Transportation Department highway system, road and access standards, and roadway asset management. The Plan will include recommendations for vehicle capacity and roadway standards including surface type and construction design. This existing planning component sets forth the overall goals of transportation in the context of other statutory requirements for comprehensive planning. The Master Transportation Plan will seek to balance the mobility issues of the Comprehensive Plan with annual decisions affecting safety, budget, and growth by presenting a systematic process for development of a Capital Improvement Plan component that is updated each budget cycle. This balance will take into consideration the financial resources available to the county. Currently, a transportation planning component is included within Lemhi County’s Comprehensive Plan updated in 2009. |
